Brook Inman is the artist of the very innovative piece above. This interesting work of art definitely required a lot of patience and is quite beautiful.
"Eleanor Roosevelt’s World War II-era Victory Garden was a shining example to Americans that they could grow their own food. And now Michelle Obama is following in her footsteps, taking up the cause by planting an 1,100 square foot edible garden on the South Lawn of the White House. Her hope is to educate children about locally grown food, inspiring them to eat healthier and encourage their families and community to follow suit."
It is truly amazing to have such an active president as well as first lady. Michelle Obama has already after two months been extremely visible and is evidently following her husbands plan of CHANGE.
Sarah Turner designed the beautiful lampshade above which was a ReDesign of recycled water bottles transformed into a lighting fixture. With some clever cutting Sarah Turner has mastered the art of turning old water bottles into decorative shapes, which form the basis of her beautiful ceiling, table and floor lamps.
This and other creative design objects made from recycled materials are currently being exhibited in a competition at the Ideal Home Show London. So if you like this innovative example of ‘reclaimed design’ there are some more if you follow the link below
Everything in this logo is recognizable at first glance... the colors and symbols all correlate to create an understanding of exactly what the stimulus package depicts.
These logos were designed by Mode Project, a chicago based design firm that designed Obama’s campaign identity. Designers Aaron Draplin and Chris Glass deserve some credit for creating a visible public project which had a part in the winning campaign.
"Color Scheme - I definitely like the color scheme of the Recovery.gov logo. Not to dull and corporate, but not to bright but still exciting. It’s serious, but its also fresh…sort of.
Symbology - Stars, Leaves, The Red Cross, and Cogs. Stars symbolize our flag, patriotism and national pride. Leaves symbolize growth and renewal and green energy. Cogs symbolize work and cooperation. The red cross symbolizes health care. Lots of symbols, lots of meaning packed into a somewhat simple logo."
"Color Scheme - Orange is a color that is almost universally associated with construction. It also gets your attention. The black is a strong color that balances with the orange nicely. Orange also means action to me - something is going to be done, or something is going to happen.
T.I.G.E.R. - I like that this logo uses an acronym (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) This makes it much easier to remember, and it spells and ACTUAL WORD!!!! How often does this happen with government agencies?"
I am not so much a fan of this logo, it seems to be a little cartoonish and not fit for a professional or government agency.
In my opinion, the winner between these two designs and even companies.... is by far Mac with the Mac Air! Dell makes an attempt to imitate Mac and their ingenious ground breaking design. But, their attempt is a bit pathetic and is no match for Mac's Design. Can somebody say... copy cat!

Above is a video from Cyber Figure ARis produced by Geisha Tokyo Entertainment in Jaapanese. This video shows a 3D “holographic” figure displayed on your computer screen that you can interact with in real life through the manipulation of a special positioning box, paddle, and web camera. The idea popularized in anime such as Hand Maid May has finally come to life! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your own virtual, interactive figure?
These little interactive figures are both funny and interesting... actually unbelievable.
Je Lee started this "Bubble Project" where over 50,000 stickers are placed on advertisements all over the world and people on the street make their own captions to them! These things are literally all over the world and in my opinion I appreciate the comic flair they add to overlooked boring advertising... hey it might even draw more attention!
Just a little bit on the dry side... but it is practically unbelievable to think that computers which most people have on their phones that fit it the palm of their hands, were once the size of a small house, needing their own ventilation to avoid overheating. This slightly boring video really depicts how far technology has come.
Yahoo celebrates 25 years of online communication. Its interesting to see how the process of digital communication transgressed... we don't really pay it that much attention considering how fast technology is changing and evolving.
Heres another comical video which advertises the truth behind consumers and attempts to sell their product by making fun of what it is that consumers look for and value in a product... The scary thing is that it probably works!
This video is slightly of topic, but its funny to see an advertising method which in trying to sell their product by making fun of advertising itself... specifically infomercials!

Matt Siber's series Floating Logos is an interesting exploration of the super-tall signs that dominate the highways of the US.
Inspired by the proliferation of very tall signs in the American Mid-West, Floating Logos seeks to draw attention to this often overlooked form of advertising. Perched atop very tall poles or stanchions, these corporate beacons emit their message by looming over us in their glowing, plastic perfection. Elimination of the support structure in the photographs allows the signs to literally float above the earth. In some cases the ground is purposefully left out of the image to further emphasize the disconnect between the corporate symbols and terra firma.
These floating signs are definitely eye catching and stand out, primarily as a form of advertisement no one expects to see. Effective!
French product designers Sophie Roberty and Christophe Beauséjour (aka Créa Créa) have been living and working together for the last ten years. More importantly, in those ten years they designed a multitude of cute everyday products to be used in your kitchen and garden.
Take a look at some of their toaster designs:
These are far more than just a regular toaster, it seems like they would attract anyone and especially children to have a piece of toast.
